Join 5th Square's Organizing and Elections Committee for our August meeting to continue planning our organizing and electoral activities for the 2019 City Council elections.

Steph Davis, Chris Shelley, and Eric Horvath are the lead organizers of the Organizing committee, the goal of which is to build political power for urbanist causes, and elect more Councilmembers who support our mission in the 2019 elections.

At our first Committee meeting in July, we discussed 5th Square's 2015 Council work and the early political landscape for 2019. We started to outline a research agenda for Council voting records, and divided the group into smaller teams that will carry out the different parts of the 2019 strategy.

At our August meeting, we'll spend more time working in these smaller teams to plan our next steps. We'll also be discussing a fall schedule of meet-and-greets with elected officials and candidates.
