West Side Meeting About the Spruce and Pine Bike Lanes

Mayor Kenney's transportation team is hosting TWO (2) public meetings about the Spruce and Pine bike lanes, on April 4th and 5th in Center City.

The WEST SIDE meeting is on Wednesday, April 4 from 6-7:30 PM, at Merck Education Center in the Kimmel Center (300 S. Broad Street)

***WE NEED YOU TO ATTEND***

We are asking supporters of protected bike lanes on Spruce and Pine to attend one or both of these meetings, and demand that Mayor Kenney install protected bike lanes THIS YEAR as part of this same repaving and restriping project.

According to the press release, the Kenney administration is NOT proposing to follow through on their earlier plan to install protected bike lanes on Spruce and Pine, even though they have federal money in-hand to do this. Instead, they are proposing some half-measures to relocate the bike lane to the left-hand sides when they repave and restripe the street. That's not good enough, especially when politics is the only thing standing in the way of a safer street for all users. After a cyclist was recently killed, and another seriously injured, right in this area, the time for half-measures is over.

Please attend one or both of these public hearings and demand that Mayor Kenney install protected bike lanes on Spruce and Pine this year!
