5th Square PAC endorsees had a great election night in this year's primary!
We would like to congratulate all of our endorsed election winners and thank all of our members! The work that 5th Square PAC does to create a more livable Philadelphia through elected representation is only possible through direct member support.
State Legislature races
5th Square PAC endorsed nine candidates running in primary elections for the PA House of Representatives. Two of them, Sierra McNeil (HD 195) and Chris Johnson (HD 200), were running in contested three-way races. Both candidates won outright majorities in last Tuesday's election.
HD 195:
- Sierra McNeil: 54% ✅ (5th Square endorsed)
- Keith Harris: 26% (incumbent)
- Kenneth Walker: 19%
HD 200:
- Chris Johnson: 61% ✅ (5th Square endorsed)
- Deshawnda Williams: 22%
- Qasim Rashad: 15%
Committeeperson races
5th Square PAC recommended 298 individuals in committeeperson races in 240 divisions across Philadelphia. 271 winners have been confirmed so far.
86 of our recommendations were running in contested races. 71 of them won—a contested win rate of 83%. Eight of our 11 recommended write-in candidates appear to have garnered more than the ten required votes. The list of official write-in winners will be released by the city commissioners office in the coming days.
