Public transit across the commonwealth supports local economies, reduces road congestion, and increases mobility and accessibility for everyone in our communities.
The Pennsylvania General Assembly has failed to fully fund SEPTA this legislative session, but Governor Shapiro & metropolitan planning organizations (MPOs) like the Delaware Valley Regional Planning Commission (DVRPC) can still flex -- or reallocate -- federal highway funding from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law toward transit.
Without action, the 57 transit agencies across Pennsylvania will need to drastically cut service and increase fares.
