Will Tung, a Fire Captain and public safety advocate, who will be our speaker on
Wednesday, July 12th.
FROM THE GREEN GROUP
Are you tired of construction blocking sidewalks? Or sick of streets that are more conducive to falling than walking? Do you hate pot holes?
The Green Group invites you to hear speaker, Will Tung, talk to us about some ways we can make our walking lives better.
THE DATE: WEDNESDAY, JULY 12th, 7 pm
The Place: Our Community Room
OUR SPEAKER: Will Tung, a long time advocate and volunteer organizer with 5th Square, Philadelphia's urban political action committee.
5th Square advocates for better transit, safer streets, and improved public spaces. One of the group's major focal points is pedestrian advocacy, and on their list of priorities is sidewalk repair, an issue near and dear to our hearts.
He will talk with us about what 5th Square is doing to promote safer streets, and perhaps get us thinking about what we can do to make walking easier and safer.
Will is a native of Queens, New York, and has a BS in economics from Wharton. His day job? He is captain of a firehouse in Northwest Philly, and formerly served at our local firehouse at 21st and Market Streets.
5th Square is a citizens advocacy group that was formed in 1914 by volunteers from all walks of life.
