A new study by engineering consulting firm WSP has confirmed and quantified what we have been seeing since early in the pandemic. That when streets are closed to cars and open to pedestrians and cyclists, people will come in huge numbers to use them!

This program brings together a diverse set of leaders from the public and private sectors to discuss Community Benefit Agreements (CBA) and other community engagement strategies. A panel with developer, community organization and elected official perspectives will share examples of negotiating CBAs, the challenges along the way, and the outcomes that were reached.

Representatives from Buffalo, NY, Eau Claire, WI, and Leadville, CO will share their experiences on engaging communities to create more inclusive, winter-friendly public spaces that support social connection and reduce social isolation.
