๐Ÿš‡ MEET SEPTA METRO

SEPTA just unveiled their proposed wayfinding design for our region's rail transit network! We LOVE this new design that simplifies and unifies the Subway, El, Trolleys, and NHSL into a seamless network.

We want SEPTA to make this proposal a reality, and you can help by giving positive feedback.

Please visit their interactive map & provide comments under "Sample Station Renderings"

You can also comment by emailing [email protected], by tweeting @SEPTAphilly, or by leaving a voicemail at (888) 281-1999.

5TH SQUARE IN THE NEWS
๐Ÿ—บ๏ธ GERMANTOWN'S PROPOSED ZONING CHANGES

PlanPhilly's Ryan Briggs writes about the Planning Commission's proposal for northern Germantown which will mandate parking and places new limits on housing in this neighborhood.

5th Square's Ben She reacts to this zoning remapping:

Local quality-of-life issues, like parking or density concerns, are taking precedence over housing more people in places that could really use it, like Northwest Philly.

While the aims to preserve character and limit gentrification are noble, we fear that such mandates will ultimately drive up housing prices and will cement automobile dependency in areas already served by frequent transit.

Do you live in Northwest Philly and want to comment on the rezoning plan? Visit the Planning Commission's site and drop comments in their interactive map.
