We urge Mayor Parker and her administration to continue the plans for a provisional intercity bus terminal in Old City.
Philadelphia desperately needs an indoor waiting space for bus riders
In the year since Greyhound closed its station on Filbert St, one million bus riders have been left stranded with no shelter. They had to contend with hazardous air quality, torrential downpours, and endless days of 90-plus degrees. Often waiting hours for a delayed bus.
Bus riders deserve dignity and respect
The Old City Autopark garage is built to handle buses off-street. It is an indoor facility with heating and air conditioning, water fountains, bathrooms, and is accessible for riders with disabilities.
In the long term, we support the establishment of a sheltered, accessible, publicly-owned intercity bus terminal, in or near a major transit hub like 30th Street Station.
