Our last Transit Committee of the year is happening on Tuesday, December 11th!
At this meeting, we're going to be spending some time on developing a campaign platform for Transit Equity Day 2019, which will take place in February next year. 5th Square is working in partnership with Philly 350, POWER, and a host of citywide organizations to raise issues to improve the lives of transit riders, and advance equitable and sustainable transit policies from SEPTA and City Hall.
We are especially interested in forming a cohesive platform that will fix the ongoing user issues with SEPTA Key fare payment once and for all. We're also interested in building on the momentum from Councilwoman Helen Gym's expressed openness to working on family-friendly fares at last month's meet-and-greet, and opportunities to address the SEPTA Key problems for low-income riders flagged by City Council Director of Civic Engagement Lance Haver in this op-ed.
Whether you're a regular attendee or a newcomer looking to get involved for the first time, everyone is welcome to participate!
Note: please have a photo ID to show at the front desk, and take the elevator directly to the 19th floor.
