5th SQUARE NEWS

The Temple News reported on the reaction of North Central Philadelphia residents to Mayor Kenney's pledge to bring back citywide street sweeping by 2023. They cited our efforts to bring this about by opposing the pilot which required crews with harmful backpack blowers. We will continue to hold the mayor to his promise and let's shed our 'Filthadelphia' moniker once and for all!

Chestnut Street in Center City is a mess due to pedestrians, cyclists, delivery trucks, buses and private cars all jockeying for limited street space. A conversation about who should have priority in this densest of urban streets springs eternal. This was brought back in the news with a new petition by local activist, Jeff Stern, following our lead and demanding Philly to follow NYC's lead and 'Cancel Cars on Chestnut'. We couldn't agree more!
