We are heartbroken by the images and stories of Dr. Barbara Friedes, who was killed while biking on the 1800 block of Spruce Street. Murdered on Wednesday evening by a reckless motorist and by a city government that has failed to provide for her safety.
Now is the time to demand safer streets from our elected officials and local registered community organizations (RCOs).
We real protected bike lanes on Spruce, Pine and Allegheny with permanent hardened barriers and an end to the dangerous practice of using these lanes for vehicle parking and loading. We demand more funding for Vision Zero.
