Grays Ferry Avenue Bridge Petition Update - Westbound Protected Bike Lane

Thanks so much for signing our petition calling for a westbound protected bicycle path on the Grays Ferry Avenue Bridge. We have new developments we'd love to share with you!

From this petition, we wrote to our state elected officials and got support for this change from the two State Representatives!

Rep. Jordan Harris from the 186th Legislative District (Representing the South Philly side of the bridge) issued this letter asking for the change to PennDOT.

Rep. James Roebuck from the 188th Legislative District (Representing the West Philly side of the bridge) sent us this letter letting us know they are reaching out to PennDOT with our concerns.

We are also hearing, unofficially, from our contacts within city government we made our request clear with this petition and that this change is likely to happen.

As an update to the ongoing construction project, PennDOT is finishing up rehabbing the north side (west-bound) of the bridge and is switching construction to the south side (east-bound) sometime in November, with ultimate completion of this project targeted for November 2020.

For full construction information on this project, visit PennDOT's graysferrybridge.com

Thanks again for your help with our petition.  We will be providing more updates via email as we get them here.
